From the Kitchen of Mel's Cafe

I like how quirky and cute their interior design is. It is very entertaining. Ive eaten their famous cheesy Dory and Butterbeer and to be honest, i liked it. Customer service is good, waiting time is not long. Its easy to find Mels Cafe is located at the second floor.

As what i observed the place is not that well known but their food is great and affordable.

Small place, second floor on santa catalina, so its easy to miss. but my goodness, great food, very good prices and very good service. my first time to mels after living in dgt city nearly four years. the iced tea pitcher of home blend was 70 pesos (about a buck forty) was just great/their signature "butter beer" is really warm milk with flavoring but it seems almost like warm icecreme. very tatsty. tatski had grilled chicken with gravy and rice, me beef patties and gravy with rice and a side of squid squiggles or something (cute names for everything) the food was very good and portioned large enough we took quite a bit home.this is filipino owned according to staff, the appearance in side is very clean and lots of paintings depicting their best dishes.. lots of pasta choices, rice dinners, will definitely return to try more of their stuff. for food a a good price, go to MELS!!!

My friends and I went to this cafe to try it out since most of the reviews were good. The place was quite small and cozy, mostly geared to students around the area. Food was good and soooo affordable. I ordered the cheezy dory for P90.00 and wasn't disappointed. My friends ordered something else and promised themselves they'll come back for the cheezy dory next time. I was pleasantly surprised that the owner herself served our food and even took a picture of us for her Facebook page. We will definitely go back next year.

I Googled the must see food stops around Dumaguete and I saw Mel's. We liked the ambiance and decorations. Its a quirky and friendly environment. The location is not hard to find, too. The cheesy Dory is great and the serving is big. My partner ordered some meat and the Butterbeer and he liked his meal. Its menu offers a wide selection of food so everyone can eat here. The staff is incredibly hands-on and their Facebook page is very active. They take pictures of their customers and post it in their page -- we had ours too.Its a must visit restaurant around the city! Budget per pax can be at LEAST Php100-200. Thumbs up!
