For a meeting with an old friend, it had to be a steak house. Now this is currently an extinct species, eating meat is politically wrong, unhealthy and harmful to the environment. It is therefore becoming increasingly difficult to find suitable places. Block House was in the old town. Well located, beautiful outer surface and there are these tasty pieces of beef, good pistes, juicy, fresh from the grill with side dishes by choice, spices from the Block House series short: On the short road! With the best steaks I know, delicious fresh salad. Service is good and friendly. Unfortunately, the Cabernet Sauvignon had over 8 euros for 0.2) a light cork taste, and the Chocolate Java Cake was best a warm brownie, but had nothing to do with the name otherwise. No liquid chocolate, just dough.
I've been a big blockhouse fan for several years. The meat quality is 1a, always fresh and very well prepared. In my opinion, the Steak ports are sufficient for every hunger, at least I have never experienced anyone getting tired. Also the supplements are always top, the salad always fresh and crisp, the dressings are very delicious. The only thing I don't like in this stone house is the service. Not particularly friendly, sometimes just angular. This is very bad, because the overall impression is very bad. When there was the blockhouse in Blumstrasse, I only went there, the service there was brilliant. I very much hope this also changes in the old town. In Block House you can expect a very good service and for that you pay a little more than elsewhere.
For me as a steak lover one of the best addresses. The meat is always of high quality (directly from Argentina) and it is prepared according to my wishes, whether I want it medium or through. Pleasant quiet restaurant with subtle background music and attentive staff.
