Used to go every Saturday when it was the Bell. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Went the week after and it had changed to Italian with no mention of this the previous week. Didn't enjoy it, and was difficult to find something on the menu I...liked. Tried it once more a few weeks later but unimpressed. Just wish it had stayed the same.
Excellent Monday Lunch. good quality food at a great price. Served by the excellent Ollie. Three of us ordered the chicken pasta dish and one the lasagne. Tasty side orders of salad and fries. Nothing to fault.
We popped here for something to eat, knowing that the pub runs an Italian restaurant. The food was excellent (I had the rib eye steak and my other half had the halibut), and the service was second to none. Really personable folks who provided a...professional service throughout. I think the only issue for this place is the branding. Its not overly clear as to whether it is The Bell Inn (eg a pub) or an Italian restaurant. The interior still has a strong legacy of the pub it used to be (traditonal bar and the old tartan carpet) but with a few signs they’re starting to add a few touches to make it feel more Mediterranean (vines and fairy lights in the ceiling panels). But certainly from the outside, and the website, you might still be a little confused as to what this place is. I think if these guys can get the marketing right, this place could flourish. There are no other Italian restaurants in Kford, and with the local Wetherspoons inevitably cornering the pub grub market, The Bell could become a little haven for those wanting something a bit different, intimate and authentic. They’ve got the basics right the food and service are spot on and its a succinct little menu. They just need push it on and go full pelt Italian with both its interior and branding. I’m guessing they’re doing this, but one step at a time. Keep up the good work guys.
Called in for dinner,we were told they only had a limited menu due to lockdown which was fair enough.the was ok but there was no atmosphere due to the lighting, needs to be turned down a bit.the evening was spoiled a bit by noisy locals swearing...in the corner drinking.needs to make its mind up wether it’s a restaurant or a pub,it doesn’t work as it is
