Nothing pretentious. Good food and good pricing with excellent staff.
I 'd never heard of the place, and from the road I thought it was just another independent burger joint. I was stuck between this or the Runza (which I still haven 't tried), so I asked a local. He said to go to the Dutch Pantry, and boy am I glad I did. I guess it used to be a chain, but now only has two locations. It 's reminiscent of Cracker Barrel, with its rustic wall hangings, market with vintage style candies and other items. I had the kielbasa and kraut with bean soup and followed it up with the Shoo Fly pie. This was a very good meal, and I would like to tour my way around the "Dutch Specialties ' area of their menu. I would definitely eat here again.
The food is very good. The grandchildren! Price is very reasonable with large portions. Waiters are fast to refill your glass. Even the store inside is a good place to buy things.
We had a Dutch pantry near my home town here in Ohio many years ago. It looked like the picture here. Was sad when they were closed. They had the best croquettes and Shoe Fly Pie.
