I was lucky enough to come here now as the Christmas decorations have pop up, early November be, they look amazing. Watch your belongs. Too crowded at one point. But everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, lots of bars and places selling food to take away. We walked in and out of the pubs just to get that feel of old Dublin, mostly restored and welcoming. Busy area even midweek. Different vibe by day versus night. Great for a browse and walk during the day. Fab for atmosphere for a night out.
