Great food and service, beautiful interieur also. will be back!
Very good food, excellent value for money. beautiful atmosphere in restaurant
My wife and I had the fixed lunch menu at Luna's and it was terrific. We had a cocktail before, my wife loved the gin sour. We were seated at a secluded table. From the starter to the main dish, the servings were packed with variety and flavor. My wife was wowed by the turkey and waffles which were nothing like what we expected. My main was venison, which I've eaten from Canada to New Zealand, and it was one of the two best steaks I've ever had. To finish it off, the deconstructed Red Velvet cake was incredible. Barbara was the person who took care of us and she was terrific. Our glass was never empty and she was a delight to speak with. I thought the prices were reasonable and service was outstanding.
We had eaten here before it closed a few years ago and had a good experience. Reading reviews I was very hopeful so booked the chefs experience for a special night out. It was meant to be an immersive experience sitting up and the chef but they must have over booked it. We ended up with the tasting menu, but staff were confused about what they were serving, and gave wrong descriptions. It was all a bit chaotic. Some dishes were great, the halibut and venison, and the tiramisu was amazing. The other dishes were only ok and a lot not enjoyable at all like tortellini was hard and inside raw egg but my wife was solid and fully cooked. It was also repetitive being pretty similar to the soufflé. The partridge was so tough. Missing ingredients, so it felt like there was a lot of dishes in a row with nothing fresh to break up all of the heavy flavours. It was a lot of food at 11 courses plus aperitifs/bread etc and so appreciate the huge amount of work to get it all out with the Christmas group there also.. In terms of the service, They had the first few dishes out too fast, coming one after the other and didn’t give us time to finish before arriving with anther plate. Then suddenly it stopped as Christmas party arrived and service completely slowed. There was only 3 other tables in small numbers, and the rest of the space filled with the xmas party, which meant staff were focused on looking after the big group. We had to ask multiple times for a drink and/or menu as the people bringing food couldn’t take an order. Overall we found the tasting menu was pretty hit and miss with more we didn’t enjoy. Cocktails were very tasty, wine good and staff were very pleasant despite being caught up in the Christmas party rush. The space is beautiful, but obviously very loud with the party and didn’t quite feel like a restaurant.
