La Dolce Vita used to be in Sandyford village (above the Sandyford House) and now has a shiny new restaurant and location in The Chase in Sandyford Industrial Estate. The restaurant itself is a a fairly classic affair. There’s a nice bar area at the front with some taller tables and stools. Glass walls line the narrow terrace area. The restaurant area is bright and spacious feeling, leather chairs, dark wood tables (as I said, fairly classic We asked to sit outside on the terrace, seeing as it was warm and sunny out. There’s a few tables on the terrace, with a couple free when we arrived. Another had a family out for pizza and the last table had a few people from a nearby office just in for drinks. Everyone working at La Dolce Vita was friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Its nice to know you can just drop by for a drink and a snack as well. La Dolce Vita is a popular lunch spot also being surrounded by offices and businesses.La Dolce Vita, whilst Italian inspired and based on Italian cuisine, is probably not the most authentic Italian restaurant you will visit but it is good, very good… there’s clearly pride in their food and it’s a comfortable setting to enjoy a few drinks and a pizza. Just a really decent neighbourhood restaurant…We decided to start with a drink, he chose a cocktail, gin based, The Bramble… and I went for the bubbles, with prosecco! I love that the Prosecco came in a little snipe, meant I had a glass and a bit more to enjoy! We decided to go from the early bird menu courses – starter/main or main/dessert – There’s lots of choices here, starters include bruschetta, garlic breads, soups, salads… I chose the Greek Salad and S decided on the Bruschetta al Pesto. Both were fine, nothing spectacular but perfectly good choices. There was no doubt on our main courses – Pizza! There’s lots of pasta options on the menu too, Bolognese, Carbonara, Amatriciana, Cacciatora…and a big pizza menu too – we both had the same – the Isabella (ham, mushrooms, mozzarella, tomato and basil sauce). Really good pizzas… the right balance of cheese and tomato, plenty of toppings with a thin (but not super thin) base which was perfect. We both loved the pizza… although I couldn’t finish mine!If you live nearby or work in Sandyford or just passing through, pay a visit to La Dolce Vita, you won’t regret it…
Popped in here for lunch. A typical italian restaurant, pizza pasta galore! I got a spicy chicken veg noodle dish which was served with garlic bread. Yes, It was lovely, but if I'm totally honest it was nothing out of this world. Think that might have been a bad order on my part though as my heart really did desire pizza...darn diet!!I would return to La Dolce Vita again. The staff were quick, efficient and friendly. The portions are decent and good value for money...and the bar looks pretty cool too!
Great service, friendly staff and a sensational taste.
