Jewel In The Crown - Dublin

Certainly a jewel in the crown or at least a slightly rough diamond. We ate in the downstairs but there was a cosy feel to the restuarant. The rustic cellotape and blue tack holding the wallpaper down does not inspire confidence but the food and the service is excellent. You go out for the food and the ambiance so five stars here. The food is very tasty and highly recommended. It was just spicy enough for us although slighlty salty. Would recommend the early bird menu with a few sundries and plenty of beer.

Very yummy. Pleased with the food and the service. We ordered 2 curries, a rice, naan and a paratha between 2 us and this was plenty of food!!! I would consider ordering slightly less unless you are starving. The naan was fantastic, really light and tasty, it was cooked traditionally and you could really taste the difference. Similarly the paratha was also very good. Of the curries we ordered, the Karai Lamb was amazing. Very tasty and full of spices. I would definitely visit again.

The food was very tasty and the staff was so polite! They even helped us to locate some places we were looking for (around the area). I missed more rice in my plate, tho; but in general it was a positive experience.

Really good early bird which can be enjoyed until 7.30. Although decor is dated, comfortable spot for really authentic Indian cuisine! Jalfreezi is fab

It was tasty, nice and spicy. 9,50€ for a three course meal is a pretty nice deal! Service was quick and polite. Atmosphere relaxing,clean and neat. Only negative was the veg soup starter which was basically obe of those instant cup 'o 'soup types with the dehidrated carrot and pea bits. Don 't bother ordering that soup. Everything else was great. :
