Grano - Duarte

We ordered seafood cream soup (whose name escapes me), lasagna, ravioli, tortellini, pizza, a chocolate dessert, tiramisu, and Moscato with sage, and everything was outstanding. It was my first visit, although my family had been there before. The seating arrangement included many couples at the smaller tables, but our group of eight was comfortably seated in a separate area at the back, which I believe could accommodate parties of 12 or more. They also offer outdoor seating. The service was impeccable; both the waiter and waitress were attentive, and the owner even came out to greet us, which I appreciated given how busy the restaurant was. I highly recommend this place for its delicious food and exceptional service. Kudos to the chef and the entire team!

The Pinot Noir was fantastic, and the Italian beer was incredibly smooth, almost buttery. We started off with calamari, and then we chose handmade pasta with seafood and chicken parmigiana. I must highlight the potato puree that came with the chicken – it was unbelievably good! Seriously, where do these magical potatoes come from? I’ve never tasted anything like them. I’d go back just for that! For dessert, we had crème brûlée topped with real whipped cream and a chocolate dessert wine that were both divine, truly a perfect ending to our evening. I highly recommend this place!

You might be surprised to discover an authentic Italian restaurant tucked away in the Duarte Target Center, but believe me when I say this place is absolutely DELICIOUS! The pizza boasts a thin crust that I love, with fresh-tasting cheese and delightful basil on top – simply mmmm! In addition to that, our group ordered vegan gnocchi with marinara (go for the arrabbiata sauce if you're feeling adventurous) and chicken Alfredo. The chicken Alfredo portion is quite generous, perfect for hearty eaters. Chef Landi warmly welcomed me during my first visit to pick up my order. We've returned twice since then as I seek consistency in both service and quality, and I can confidently say it’s definitely here!

We used the Prix Fixe Valentine dinner last night. The selection of foods was not the usual fare you see in most places. It was upscale and perfectly presented and prepared. Four complete courses and started with a selection of two cocktails. Three options for starters, three choices for the first course, three choices for the main course and two dessert options. I wish we had brought a third person to order and share EVERYTHING. My husband and I have ordered various decisions, and each of us would have been sworn and still be as happy. The portions were generous, but with enough time to enjoy them without feeling hastened. The wine selection was good, and since the glass my husband asked was the last in a bottle and not full of it composed it and brought a complete glass of a similar variety at the same time. It was clear that the business (including the takeover) was moderate, but the staff was under pressure. It was always one of our favorite restaurants and last night they screamed!

We ended up here after Ren Faire because the Spaghetti Factory was busy. Never again will I go anywhere else after Faire. In fact, we're going to have to find reasons to make the trek to Duarte so that we can come back. The food is that good. The Focaccia is amazing. Fresh flat bread, pears, fried cheese, fresh honey divine. The Lasagna is fantastic. We also had half portions of the seafood and mushroom risottos sooooo good! Fabrizio, the chef, is truly inspired, and I think it's family run.
