Hearty meals, maybe too much. Invited by friends I had lunch at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago. I hate having to leave the food in my plate, but there was no options. All in all, the quality is decent, friendly service, the environment a little 'too chaotic, but I am not surprised by this. Not worth the trip, for sure, but if you are in this area, it can be a good choice. Good prices!
The pizza crust is super thin, just the way I like it. These were amongst the best I have had in Italy. What lets this place down is that the other menu items are very ordinary. Nothing seems to be made with any specific care. Pasta with herbs used dried herbs and was very salty. And this was in summer, when there should be an abundance of fresh herbs to use. Bistecca a very thin cut and served with overcooked veggies that looked like they had been scooped out of a pan and just plonked on the plate. Antipasti was a limited selection of local dishes. I liked the pickled onions and anchovies in salsa verdi the best. They had a few ok wines at cheap prices. We had a muller thurgau for €16 that was very drinkable. Since we stayed in the hotel we had two breakfasts and dinners there. They didn't change the tablecloths on our table (nor the paper overlays) once over those four meals. It was ok, not terrible.
