It operates mostly as a "build your own" place, putting you in charge of your meal. There are no set plates or sides here—just pick your meats, choose your sides, and grab a beverage. We went with turkey and pulled pork, accompanied by an impressive baked potato (which we topped with pulled pork right at our table) and some chopped slaw dressed in vinegar. We also tried the Baked Potato Salad, and honestly, I should have chosen that instead; it was warm and bursting with flavor. The owner even treated us to a Piggy Tail or two to sample. Wow, talk about sweet goodness! Place a slice of that on top of a maple frosted cream stick, and you'll be begging for seconds. This stop was definitely worth it and filled a huge void during our long drive home. We will be back!
We discovered this restaurant while we were in town for a softball tournament, and they graciously accommodated our entire team along with our families! The dining room is beautifully decorated with a distinct Texas vibe, and the staff was consistently cleaning and ensuring that everyone had a place to sit. The atmosphere was made even better by their friendly service. The food was not only delicious but also served quickly, with service that was truly exceptional! My personal favorites included the brisket sandwich, brisket nachos, jalapeño mac and cheese, and the homemade banana pudding. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up dining there two days in a row as a team. Plus, the super cute sign out front makes for a great photo opportunity!
The food was fantastic! We tried the ribs and the chopped beef sandwiches, both of which were delicious. The jalapeño mac and cheese is absolutely amazing—so cheesy and creamy! The charro beans had just the right amount of spice, and the home-cut fries were tasty as well. The candied bacon, also known as pigtails, has now become my favorite dessert! I was hoping to get a potato with meat since I’m a ranch girl, but unfortunately, they don’t serve that. Aside from that minor disappointment, everything was wonderful!
Well holy cow! We landed in Austin today and stopped by the Pig Pen as our first stop, and it might have to be my last as well. The brisket was AMAZING- it melts in your mouth and has such a great flavor. I?m a huge foodie and I cannot say enough goodthings about this restaurant. The mac and cheese was incredible. Also loved the potato salad. You?ve GOT to try this place.
I just have to mention how friendly the staff was and how clean the tables and restaurant were at Que Stop in Dripping Springs. It created such a comfortable atmosphere. It’s a casual spot—there are no set plates or menus here. You get to choose your meat, your sides, and your drink. We ordered turkey and pulled pork, which came with an impressive baked potato (the pulled pork was a must-try) and a vinegar-based chopped slaw. We also tried the warm baked potato salad, which was packed with flavor. The owners even treated us to a couple of samples of their Piggy Tails—wow! If you get a chance, definitely try one on a maple-frosted cream stick; you'll be begging for seconds! This place is worth the stop and definitely made our long drive home more enjoyable. We’ll be back!
