Dobbs Famous B-que - Dothan

Been eating here for over 45 Years.. the food is no longer the same now that Dobbs passed away.. the food is HORRIBLE.. Hamburger steak was not fully cooked, hot dog buns were soggy, coleslaw was too finely shredded with a bad vinegar taste, the pulled pork was dry and tasted NOTHING LIKE it used to.. I WILL NEVER GO BACK..

Was really excited to try this spot , considering how long it’s been around. But they gotta change something, bbq was decent, sauce was a joke. Same for the potato salad so was the coleslaw. On a positive note the tea was 10/10!

Went to get a pound of pork to take home. When I got in the car I opened the container to find a tiny bit of meat floating in a ton of sauce. I didn't want sauce and they did fix it to what I ordered. I guess they didn't think I would bother to come back. Wish I had taken a picture of it.The coleslaw was not good and I like almost any type of salad item. The meat was dry so I had to add water to it and heat it up. Will not go back. My neighbors said it used to be good but its gone way down.

My experience ordering from this restaurant for the first time was disappointing. The flavors weren't to our liking, with many dishes having a strong vinegar taste. My ribs arrived cold, and while my corndog was warm, it wasn't hot enough—closer to lukewarm, really. The potato salad also had vinegar, and although the turkey salad was cold, I understand that’s typical for that dish. Overall, I wasn’t impressed. I would have rated it three stars since the food was mediocre, but then I encountered the smoked sausage. It felt like a prank—it came in a plastic wrapper and was cold, as if it had just been taken out of the fridge. It wasn't smoked, it wasn't hot, and it wasn’t even in a takeout container. It seemed like they expected me to heat it up myself. My brother didn’t enjoy his meal either and mentioned he might just throw the leftovers away. On the bright side, the staff were nice! This might be a good place to recommend to someone you’re not particularly fond of but don’t want to offend.

I have dined here before and it was excellent, but today was a complete letdown. The potato salad resembled mashed potatoes, and the meat turned out to be a fried, breaded hamburger. The only redeeming aspects were the baked beans and the dessert.
