Zum Trommler - Dortmund

Friendly service, ambiente ok. the food came quickly. pommes super good, the meat in taste good, but unfortunately a little dry. price - price/performance ratio top.

Let me start by saying we are English in Dortmund for the football and staying in a very nearby hotel we arrived at 8pm on a Tuesday evening and they had no English menu so had pretty low expectations. However as long as you have a basic level of food knowledge you can navigate your way through most of the menu and I bet even if you can't just order anything and you will be amazed with the quality and the value. My wife had the pork medallions in a peppercorn sauce and it was to die for. I had a schnitzel a favourite of mine when in continental Europe and the breadcrumbs were superb and the meat so tender to cut. The "jaeger sauce" was also of the highest quality. You get a free salad bar which is not extensive but is very fresh, we had two beers each and the total bill less than 40 euro's. I would struggle to match that value for money in the uk, even if we were not 100% sure of what we were getting when ordering.

Despite messestress good quality and friendly right for 2 more days a table seems to be suitable for the weekend

For work we dined in this German/Croatian room. humble, simple, a little housewife with the husband serving in the room, does the bar etc. and family in other things affacendate. Poor place in the location but good meat, in the Croatian/Slava tradition and discreet seconds. excellent price. To be recommended for one evening, in group with friends or for work.

On Sunday evening the trommler is not heavily visited. the staff is very friendly and friendly and serves good food. the dishes I can not necessarily call innovatiw, they seem handcrafted but very well made. the dab of the faß is presented here tasty in pub quality and there is already a neighbour in jogging pants, who gets a dish to take. under the dash: here bite in there mouth and to eat bite here rich!
