Very traditional pub, nice food with good portions and good atmosphere. Visited during the day not long after pubs reopened. Nice staff and big garden area which is good. Loved seeing the dog too!
A fine hostelry frequented for many years by the famous Stanley Potts.
The interior of the pub is stunning, and I really love the central bar with tables surrounding it, which makes it convenient to access without having to navigate through the entire space. I wish we had seen the pub dog a bit more during our previous visit, but I’m happy to say we encountered him this time, and he’s absolutely adorable (and quite large)! As for the food, it was just as fantastic as before; we opted for the Sunday roast this time, and it did not disappoint!
The female staff were not only beautiful but also hardworking and friendly. I particularly enjoyed the chicken Caesar salad; it was delicious, and I appreciated the chef's thoughtful touches. The pub is very dog-friendly, which I loved, as it allowed dogs to roam around freely. Overall, the atmosphere is fantastic, the people are friendly, and the food is quite enjoyable. We recently returned to this pub and were very satisfied with our experience. It was quite busy, and we ended up sitting at the bar, but that didn't bother us at all. In fact, it was nice to see so many people bringing their dogs along, and the dog burgers looked tempting too!
