Por cierto, personal muy amable. el otro lugar es más hermoso y más moderno, pero ya no sirven pintxos sólo sirven platos más grandes y elaborados en el momento, yo no lo intenté pero creo que también me habría conseguido. Ambos tienen el mismo chef que en la misma calle. En cuanto al primero me gustaría señalar que aunque los pintxos están preparados en el bar, después de elegirlos se los da al camarero y terminan de prepararlos, dándoles calor si es el caso y presentándolos en diferentes platos y con pequeños toques, dándoles un punto de distinción.
Ya nos lo habían recomendado nada más que llegar a San Sebastián, era una visita obligada, así que la primera noche probamos la famosa y galardonada hoguera y no nos decepcionó. todo era muy bueno y aunque no es barato vale la pena. totalmente recomendado.
Omg this place is why I came to san sebastián! I saw a YouTube video about eating and tapas bars in san sebastián and this bar was shown as one of the best, so I had to check it. it is always packed (I went to lunch and dinner, but eating is great! try out the cod thing. that is undoubtedly the best food I ever had in my life. it is half raw toy that they need to hold on the mini grill that they are for approx. 30 seconds bring, then put it on the cracker that is served, the karamellized tweepers and a special sauce on it! then drink the celery juice that is served with it. when I come back to san sebastián, I will come back here in definitiw.
The actual Bar Zeruko was closed for renovations. So we went to their sit down restaurant next door. Don't be intimated just because you don't see anyone standing around because it's not the same like the other pintxo bars. All I can say is WOW! In all honesty, it was the best place we ate when we were here in San Sebastián. Bar none! The food is very simplistic yet delish in every way. Everything was cooked just right. They maybe have only eight to ten things to order on their menu. I kid you not my wife and I tried all of them and none will dissapoint you. We highly recommend the fish and chips, razor clams, stone cooked tuna.... you know what? TRY THEM ALL! They don't have any pintxos in the open, since it's a sit down restaurant (actually my advise is to order hot pintxos anyways in any of the places where your here in San Sebastián) Let Miguel and Jose Marie we said hi!
As well as everyone says that it is. Note that almost all elements on the bar need to be heated or cooked to finish. Some look like you could just decorate down, but ask for everything. this is an expulsion of molecular gastronomy (at about 8% of the cost of the famous places) does not mean everything it seems.
