When the food arrived, we found the steaks to be overcooked and lacking in seasoning, although the gravy was good and somewhat salvaged the meal. However, the chicken burger caused my husband to rush to the bathroom as soon as we got home. To make matters worse, they conveniently forgot the ice cream that was supposed to come with the kid's meal, and we had to remind them about it. While the portion sizes were decent, the quality of the food didn't justify the price—especially since we were charged full price instead of the claimed special price of $15. The only highlight of the meal was the chips and gravy. I’ve visited this restaurant several times in the past and always enjoyed the food, the friendly staff, and the welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, after this experience, it looks like we will be crossing Donnybrook Hotel off our list of places to eat from now on.

The food is fantastic, the prices are quite reasonable, and the staff is extremely friendly, offering excellent service! I will definitely return.

I decided to try the fish and chips after hearing great things about it, but I was disappointed. My flathead had a fishy flavor, which usually indicates that the fish wasn't handled or prepared correctly. The blood or brown parts were visible, suggesting it wasn't properly bled. On the positive side, the chips were tasty and well-seasoned. The service is consistently good whenever we visit, but I won't be ordering the fish and chips again.

We had the 400gm rump and the 1kg rib eye. Both requested medium rare but both came out over more of a medium to medium done. The 1kg must include the weight of the bone, the steak had slightly more meat that the 400gm but definitely not 1kg of meat. Service was wonderful, the ladies are all so nice. Will give it another go and hopefully better results.

Just drinks tonight. Good classic pub feel. Wish I'd ordered a meal now. Draught was nice on tap. Bistro area and also food available in public bar. Sweet bar stool/bench seats looking out to road, fireplace, different seating styles. Drinking games timed to the trains rolling through is highly recommended. Great place.
