The Boat Inn - Doncaster

I booked a table of 8 for dinner last night and had no better experience. more attentive waiter (if we have his name to compose him directly) who was also very polite! the eating was delicious, especially the Camembert bites and super filling! we thought it was all very good price and it had a nice atmosphere! amazing to see all negative feedback and cannot understand for living from me why! do not sleep in the boat inn!

I was a little worried after I heard that we met here for a family dinner after reading the reviews. we are local and used to eating them regularly years ago, but not yet for a past and had not heard well before place eating. we were greeted at the arrival and our waiter was to show us on our table. the pub looked very christian, the fires were illuminated and the Christmas decoration looked beautiful. our waiter was friendly and then took our drink order back to take our food order. there were a total of 8 of us and we all ordered starters and main courses. the meal all came out in good time and were all very good and piping hot. overall we all had a nice time to eat, service and atmosphere in the boat inn was very good and we will return.

Boat inn sprotborough. four of us went to the boat inn on Wednesday. we came to drink at 4.50 and found a table. I had searched on the website and saw that they had a set menu 3 curs for 10, so I went into the bar to ask for it. I was told they stopped to serve 17 o'clock. it was 3 minutes past, and we were before 17 o'clock. so we ordered ourselves in the main menu. I ordered slowly boiled bubbly swarm. when it arrived, it was about 2 square with a disc black pudding and some brat red cabbage. the black was dry and stringy and the black pudding tasted dry and powdery. the red cabbage was sick sweet. the only good thing about this meal was the presentation. my son had been wurst and maic. it was in a...read more

There were some issues with service, as other guests were also waiting for their food and drinks. We had to remind the staff twice that we had not yet received our drinks, even after waiting for 20 minutes. The food took quite a while to arrive, especially the main course, but aside from lukewarm onion rings, our meal was enjoyable. It was disappointing to see that similar complaints had been made by other diners on the website from a year ago, indicating that these issues had not been addressed. Despite the service hiccups, I would consider returning to the Boat Inn, particularly in the summer months. I hope that these issues can be resolved to ensure a more consistent dining experience.
