Mccallums Farm Shop - Doncaster

We used to love coming to this restaurant for breakfast, but our experience yesterday was extremely disappointing. It took over 45 minutes from the time we ordered to receive our food, even though there were only about a dozen people in the cafe, all of whom were also ordering breakfast items. When our food finally arrived, it was not worth the wait. The mushrooms were chewy and seemed to have been sitting out for a while, the eggs were greasy, and the sausages were undercooked at one end. To top it off, by the time our food arrived, we had already finished our coffee. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning.

I visited this place to buy a Christmas tree and really enjoyed it! I come from a family that has a tradition of getting a tree, so I chatted with the man who I believe said his father owned the place. He was really friendly, gave us a discount, and helped us load the tree into the car. We paid £45 for a huge tree that filled our bay window. It was about 6ft 5in tall and around 5ft wide. The tree lasted until New Year's. The woman at the store also makes lovely hampers with gin and biscuits. I have since moved to a village near Doncaster, but I was visiting home for Christmas and they made adorable hampers for my family. I called them today and they mentioned they will have Christmas trees available again this year, so I am happy to wait a week or so until they are in stock.

Today, the cafe debuted its Sunday lunch service. The chef prepared a fantastic meal using high-quality ingredients. The striploin beef was exceptionally tender and was accompanied by a wide variety of vegetables and delicious gravy. The service was top-notch.

We went for breakfast. Fabulous welcome by the waitress who told me she used to be a social worker. Just happy and bubbly and a great rapport with the customers! Breakfast was hot and tasty apart from the mushrooms which tasted odd and bitter as if they'd been cooked in oil. I always use butter! Great farm shop too and lived the gin!!!

We had lunch there with our family had excellent food. The staff were friendly the farm shop is great!!
