Schnitzel as big as a toilet lid!!!! Portions and quality is outstanding!!! The price for food and drink is very reasonably priced. There is no "Bedienung" (waitstaff) in the biergarten witch keeps the prices really low , however if you don't mind grabbing your own drinks and food and returning your plates and Biersteins and enjoy the beginning of der Steigerwald this is a MUST!!!

We came to this restaurant when visiting a friend stationed here in the Army. The open seating concept outside was nice and the schnitzel I ordered was bigger then my head! The food was wonderful and a great taste of traditional German fare. Great place for families as there are play areas for the kids.

Very typical German restaurant located in a forest. Although the drive to the place does not look promising (we went in February) then on arrival you're welcomed by a cozy authentic restaurant. Large variety of daily specials and pizzas. They serve nice local wine with the food as well.

First meal in Germany was at the Schiesshaus. Was not disappointed! Great amount of food for the price, friendly staff and location in the woods, North of the city.

I have been going here for years and it is a great experience every time. I love that it is located in the woods and it provides a terrific atmosphere. This is super kid friendly and there is plenty of room for your little ones to run around. Most of the eating is outdoors so warmer months is when you want to go. You first order your food and then take a seat at one of their wood tables and benches. You listen for your number to be called and pick up your food. You get your drinks right away after you order at the front station. Food is great and comes out relatively quick. My wife and I always order the schnitzel. For those who are really hungry you can order a full schnitzel which is enormous and literally is falling off of your plate. I usually order the half portion which is plenty for me and I'm a big guy. All schnitzels come with fries and a small salad. This is a must go when visiting the Schweinfurt area. If you aren't in the mood for schnitzel they also have great oven pizza's that they make on site. This is what my son usually gets.
