La Crepitante - Dijon

We had an excellent meal here. I had the ‘Italian’ crepe and my husband had the quatre fromages one we finished by sharing a crêpe Dijonnais. All were delicious. The food is ‘bio’, as is the wine and there is a good choice for vegetarians. This will be our go to place when we stop,overnight in Dijon.

My husband I walked in on a Wednesday at 1:15 pm for lunch. The place was 3/4 empty and there was a sad looking table for 2 available in the back and 4 empty tables for 4. We spotted a lovely table by the window for 4 and asked if we could sit there. The lady serving food tersely said we could not as it was a table for 4. When I calmly pointed out that there were 3 other tables for 4 available, she rudely replied that you never know who might walk in. First of all, this place was off the beaten track and they were closing in half an hour. The likelihood that 4 tables of 4 people would walk in was literally zero. Secondly, what if another couple walked in? Wouldn’t she also then have to seat them at a table for 4, or would she refuse them? This woman clearly does not understand that she turned away two perfectly good paying customers with her inflexibility and rudeness. She shouldn’t be in the restaurant business as she is terrible at dealing with customers. I can’t comment about the food as she didn’t give us the chance to try it and we left and went to Le Bory in a much nicer location. We were welcomed with open arms by a wonderful lady and enjoyed delicious crepes and galettes and wine. My advice is to skip this place.

Made a same-day reservation for Saturday evening (many people were turned away who didn’t have a reservation). We took the “menus”, about €20 for drink (cider), main and dessert crepe. There are many choices for the crepe, including many vegetarian options and lactose-free options. Perfect for us. Both dishes were simply amazing: well-seasoned, diverse, delicious. In additions the waiting staff was very helpful in navigating us around the French menu (and the lactose-free options). We debated on ordering another desert to share, instead agreed we would come back some other day for another menu. To put it simple, go try this when you’re in Dijon, you will not regret it for a second.

Accueil très agréable et aimable. Crêpes délicieuses, avec des produits frais et de qualité. Je recommande les yeux fermés. Merci pour ce moment.
