Elbklause - Diera-Zehren

For reasons best known to themselves, management don't open the indoor dining room even in a thunderstorm. Maybe they only have the terrace dining area, that would explain it. It was bucketing down when we arrived and we were surprised to be shown to the terrace, with its somewhat inadequate canopies. We would have left, but we'd have got soaked trying to find anywhere else to eat. The tables had been carefully arranged to avoid the gaps between canopies, and it was basically dry as long as you stayed under them and didn't mind a certain amount of rising damp from underfoot. It wasn't very warm though. The food was good and typically German, served in large portions. The only problem was the waiting staff had to carry everything across from the kitchen along a route with no shelter, and they weren't provided with anything to protect plates or glasses from the downpour, so our food was a bit on the soggy side. It was also a teeny bit scary to be so exposed when there was a full-blown thunderstorm raging around us. We smiled when a table of Germans remonstrated with their waitress about the rain in their beer, after which she took to delivering one glass at a time so she could cover it with the other hand. All a bit crazy really.

We stayed there in summer 2020 for a larger family celebration. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food at the celebration was delicious and extensive and the service friendly. Breakfast could be more extensive, but you're getting tired.

Beautiful location right on the Elbe. Good food, nice quick operation. You can book a ride with the small passenger ship. Free!

I was with a 24-strong travel group at the bus driver) with you and I must say...10 stars absolutely delicious food, the service and kindness were from the beginning to the end. Super beautifully located terrace near Elb. 100 percent recommended. We come back, whether professional or private. Oh!

Through very delicious food for lunch, delicious and beautiful arranged not cheap, but very cheap. On the other hand, the cake offer to the coffee grows from tasty fresh to apparently from the day before. Very attractive is the combination of a restaurant visit with a boat tour on the Elbe from the nearby ship dock.
