The crab appetizer topping was enjoyable, but the chip it came with was not. We waited a half hour to be served, and then another half hour passed before a staff member informed us that our entrée was no longer available because it had been sold to someone else. We were told to come back later in the week. We had ordered an hour before the staff member came to our table, and no compensation or consideration was offered for our experience. We spent $70 on appetizers.
The atmosphere was pleasant, and the waitstaff were friendly, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I ordered the wagyu chili dog and the fondue fries, and was disappointed. The chili on the hot dog was subpar, and the fondue fries, which were supposed to be an appetizer, were served last. The cheese for the fries was quite bland, resembling a tasteless soup. Because of this experience, I likely won't return.
This restaurant boasts a fantastic midtown location that's easily accessible from downtown attractions, including the Fisher Theatre. I started my meal with the seasonal cucumber mule, which was refreshingly crisp with a lovely floral finish—perfect for summer. Next, I tried the Mozz Pizza, which featured a thin artisan-style crust reminiscent of Neapolitan pizza. I also ordered the Pulled Beef sandwich accompanied by fries. The sandwich was made traditionally and included just the right amount of pickles, though it could have benefitted from a bit more BBQ sauce. It paired nicely with the Bees Knees draft beer, which had a slightly hoppy profile with a hint of berry sweetness—similar to Bell's Oberon but with berry notes instead of citrus. Lastly, our server Chris was attentive, kind, and courteous throughout our visit. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for its great atmosphere and well-rounded menu.
I had the Fried Chicken Bowl and it was tremendous. The Fried Chicken held its own but the sides (the Mashed Potatoes and Collard Greens) were what stood out. Both were incredible. The staff was courteous and helpful as well. I’ll be back!!
Had their burger and fries while enjoying a few beers at Nain Rouge Brewery and the chicken sandwich roulette previously and both were solid. This place gets a 5 star rating alone on the laugh I got watching my friend eat the slider that had the ghost pepper.
