Sid Gold’s Request Room - Detroit

We arrived at 10:25 PM, and when I checked in, the host told me we would have to wait about five minutes to be seated. Ten minutes later, I went to check again, and the host said there was a mix-up and we would need to wait even longer. After another 20 minutes, I approached the host again, but this time the manager was present and informed me it would be an additional ten minutes. I expressed my frustrations since we had been waiting for nearly 30 minutes past our confirmed reservation. Unfortunately, the manager was unprofessional and unsympathetic. Finally, at 11:05 PM, we were seated, but not all of us had seats, which was fine—some stood since we were just excited to be in the karaoke area. We quickly submitted our karaoke song requests, aware of our limited time. After 45 minutes without being called to the stage, I spoke to the pianist, who then moved us up in line. However, the manager kept bringing other guests to cut the line and take the stage. By the end of our reservation, we only managed to sing two songs, despite my efforts to communicate with the pianist about the unfair situation. While the manager did buy my sister a drink on the house for the occasion, it didn't excuse his inappropriate behavior. He was overly familiar with the female guests, placing his hand on their lower backs, which is completely unacceptable. On a positive note, John, the owner, was very accommodating. He was the one I initially booked the reservation with and he listened to my concerns after our experience. He reached out quickly to offer a resolution and genuinely cares about ensuring everyone has a good time. Because of his attentiveness, we may consider giving Sid's in Detroit another chance in the future.

As one of the pianists here, I absolutely enjoy performing at this gig. We have a fantastic time! They don't serve food, but there are plenty of excellent dining options nearby.

This place was amazing! Stefan plays the piano like the true virtuoso that he is. There's a fantastic selection of songs, and the bar overall is excellent!

The drinks and staff were outstanding. I had a wonderful time enjoying live music and karaoke there.

This hidden speakeasy bar is definitely a gem! The service was fantastic, thanks to Josh and Wolf, who were both incredible. The drinks were reasonably priced and tasted great. They even have karaoke with a pianist, which adds to the fun. You won't regret visiting this place. I highly recommend it—10/10!
