Food was hot and fresh even ate it the next day. Service was quick. The kids loved the food.
I'm vegan. And I was trying to get something to eat. So I ordered the broccoli with vegetables. The cashier told me 15 minutes. I leave to go the store next door and come back in 15 minutes. The food is still not ready. Only for her to tell me that they were out of broccoli. Then she asked if I wanted Chinese vegetables. I said yes only because I misunderstood what she said. Their microphone system is pretty bad and I had a hard time hearing what she said. I thought she was asking if I wanted Chinese vegetables WITH my broccoli. I have to wait another 10 minutes. I finally get my food. Which was a combo plate with fried rice, no shrimp/ no egg and broccoli and vegetables. Well... I got some Chinese vegetables in a way I've never seen them. Looks like they were cooked in mucus. Bok choy and mushroom in slimy mucus. I was pissed. I'm never going back there again. I wish I had taken a pic but it was too disgusting to even post.
Sweet sour chicken is the best to me. I love that they have actual pineapples in the sauce. I usually go down the street to Great Wall for their shrimp fried rice and egg rolls though. I really wish they would remodel the small spot because it's barely standing. Parking: Not much parking there you will have to park in front of the establishment literally and I don't mean on the street either.
I 've been spit on in the lobby of Rikshaw house by homeless. There 's maybe no roof? When it 's raining outside, it 'll rain on you inside, too. I still come back for the food. Here 's the deal: Chinese food sucks at most places, you have to find what you like best and go there for only that thing. Rikshaw has the best chicken pieces AND the best sauce flavor and texture for their chicken dishes. The prices make me feel like I 'm still getting too much food for what I pay and that 's important when other options are twice the cost for something with no leftovers. They used to be cash only but take card now.VIP dish: General 's Chicken it 's more savory and has tons of onions.Honorable mention: Beef Broccoli or Special Lo Mein (all meats)If you get Shrimp fried rice, get it with extra green onions and a side of gravy. Parking: Probably some nails and glass in the parking lot. Good thing you 're used to it in Detroit.
