Our group of four sampled nearly the entire menu, and we were impressed with every single dish. The hummus, veggie grape leaves, beet salad (absolutely amazing), shawarma, and lentil soup—every bite was a delight, perfectly seasoned and delicious. I can't wait to return!
We waited over an hour for our drinks, which included glasses of wine, vodka waters, and a few specialty cocktails. When we informed Demi that we were still waiting, she rolled her eyes at us and walked away. After that, we were never asked if we needed anything else. We didn't receive any refills on our water or other drinks. To make matters worse, our food took an hour and a half to arrive. We approached the manager to discuss the long wait and encountered more rudeness. He insisted that such a wait time for food and drinks was normal, which I find unbelievable. Due to the unprofessional behavior of both the staff and the manager, I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I certainly cannot recommend it to anyone.
We waited an hour and ten minutes for our drinks and over two hours for our food. When we approached the manager, he casually remarked that "two hours is the normal dining time." If you're hungry, I wouldn't recommend this place! We even saw another table that arrived after us being served their drinks and food before we got ours. When our order finally arrived, several items were missing. Additionally, our server was quite rude. This experience has put us off from returning.
Leila Restaurant in Detroit is an absolute gem! The food is a delightful fusion of creativity and tradition, and the staff provides warm and attentive service. I can't wait to return for another exceptional dining experience.
It wasn’t a good experience. The staff seemed uncaring and inattentive. The food was slow to come out and they kept forgetting what we ordered and having to bring it out way after. The food was soooo salty and the grilled kabobs were chewy and not tender, the kafta was super salty and the chicken was the only good meat we had. The kibbe, batata harra and baba ganouch were good but we spent 420 dollars on food that really didn’t feel worth it.the worst part of it was when I asked for a box to take the rice with me, the girl said she would do it and proceeded to clean the table in several trips. I told her I could box it we had to leave because my toddler was getting restless, the girl left and then threw the box at me and walked away with zero eye contact. I don’t think we will be coming back unfortunately.
