Calexico Detroit

Had a pm reservation. When I got there before being seated I was told Well we close at When asked why accept a reservation I was told it was impossible. When I showed a screen shot of my reservation I was told well we can't see open table . I decided to just leave.

Of us had shrimp fajitas and although they were tasty they were the smallest shrimp I’ve ever had in an entree. Definitely not worth a return visit.

Delicious tacos, guac, bowls, and apps. Service was fine, definitely short staffed. I wish that the tortilla chips were warm but that would be the only recommendation!

Our server was excellent- very friendly, attentive, and hard working. We took his recommendations for food and drinks. Margaritas were good, but small. Food was bland. Mexican food with no spice is no good for me. As a Cali native, I was hoping for more. Next time we’ll stick with Bakersfield. And…I don’t mind paying for chips and salsa but not when they’re blah. Asked for some jalapeños and red pepper to give them some taste at least.

Saturday afternoon and not all that busy. Food Tex/Mex. Not really spicy. Margaritas very good. Some staff friendly, others going through the motions. Appreciate they turned down music volume on request. Women’s bathrooms distasteful. Large amount of trash on floor of one stall, unflushed commode in the other. Paper towel dispenser empty (air dryer available) so could not open a very heavy door without touching handle (foot opener inadequate given weight of door).
