Mimmo's Italiano - Destin

Food was decent and the size of your plate was worth the cost. Service was alright. I know my party had a lot of children in it as we all traveled from all over to visit Destin. The server was professional but we could tell she thought we?d stiff her, because we had a large party with children. The server added the gratuity to the bill and I still tipped her double even though she may have made her own judgements prior. I will say one of the complaints another guest in our party had was the server let a child order an appetizer without ever asking the parent and when the food came the parent was surprised. I will still come back again even given the circumstances as my family travels there every year. All of us have worked in a restaurant setting so we get it, but try to work on your preconceived judgements, not all of us are the same. Thanks again for the good food, see you next year.

Without a doubt, the best Italian food we have ever had. Get there as soon as they open!! Trust me, it?s so good that there will be a wait. The portions were perfectly sized! The cocktails were delicious sophisticated. We were in and out within an hour. Amazing service. This restaurant is what you make it, casual or romantic date night. Authentic perfection. Truly a treat for our family of 5!! The only to go box that we took with us was dessert because we each cleaned our plates!

Walked in at about 5 tonight with no reservation and was seated outside. Food and service from Federico did not disappoint! Great job ? being Italian its hard to find what I consider good pizza and sauce and this place was delicious. Pizza and food was flavorful and good portions. Glad we took a gamble and visited tonight.

Not sure why the reviews are so good. Garlic knots are amazing. That's it. I specifically asked the server if the sauce was basily and he said no, as I am not a big basil fan. Lasagna arrived cold, like it just came out of the refrigerator, and the most basily sauce I've ever had. So much so it almost tasted minty. Off-putting for sure. Then we tried the pizza. Made with the same sauce. Ugh. Soggy crust and greasy cheese. Just didn't live up to the hype.

Fast paced restaurant. Crowded on the weekends so be sure to make reservations if you have a party of more than 3. If you're dropping in with 1 to 2 other people, ask to be seated at the pizza bar. Here you'll get the best seat in the house. You can watch your pizza and calzones being made. Everything is authentic and super fresh. The guy that makes them is nice and works very quickly. There's a great drink menu with plenty of options that's sure to please everyone. They serve way more than just pizza and calzones. My husband had a cheese and meat board. You cannot go wrong here.
