The Goat & Bucket - DESERT SPRINGS

During my brief stay at Crowne Plaza, I dined at The Gate and The Bucket. I enjoyed a decent burger and fries.

$5 beers during the World Rugby cup and other specials. Tried the food and found the serving for Gnocchi was more an entree size than a main. Tasted alright but would have gone hungry without the order of chips. Calamari was fine but nothing to...write home about.

Comfy booths, great feel to this restaurant with soft lighting modern decor. The menu is quite basic but makes it easier to choose. We had the jalapeño balls for entree they were really tasty....very mild. They did arrive luke warm which was a shame....The mains we both decided in medium cooked steaks. They have a lovely chargrilled flavour to them. I like how they are served with roasted potatoes bit of salad. You don’t need to order extra sides if you don’t feel like it. The serving was generous but good portion for a $37 steak. I had scotch fillet which had good flavour but my piece was very fatty. My hubby had the rib eye. A cylinder looking shape of meat with no fat. He really enjoyed his steak. We decided to also try the dessert. Both had the apple rhubarb crumble. It was beautiful the only thing that let it down was 1 tiny scoop wasn’t quite enough. 2scoops would have been perfect. Overall a good night. We will be back soon. Plus it’s a nice change to go somewhere you know is 18+ only. So no screaming children running around.

Probably the best fillet steak I've had in many years here. Perfectly medium rare, thick, juicy, tasty, just the right amount of caramelisation and melt in your mouth: Could just about eat it with a spoon. Heaps of spiced potatoes and expertly dressed salad on the...side made this one of the most memorable meals and I've had many at some of the best restaurants around. Simple food done perfectly with top quality ingredients cooked by a chef who clearly knows what he's doing. Staff tell me he's been there for 8 years so he's managed to refine his art to perfection. What a surprise find in the Alice. Attentive and friendly staff too.

Located within the casino, this restaurant is an unusual addition to the venue. While it offers some typical fast food options, it also excels in other unique dishes, making it worth a visit.
