Miyabi 9 - Des Moines

The waiter was nice, but mumbled/didnt speak loudly enough so it was a bit painful trying to communicate(plus never got our water refilled). I had went earlier in the year and loved the decore, but was unpleasantly surprised upon arriving to see mostall of it had been taken down, every wall but 1 being barren. Food was good, but it didnt feel like we got the experience beingpaid for. I'd like to go again on a date night, but there are always 3-4 other sushi places downtown.

The sushi was incredible, but the service was even more impressive. We shared five of their specialty rolls among three people, along with a small appetizer. While none of us initially wanted dessert, we couldn't resist trying the tempura-fried cheesecake. This restaurant ranks in my all-time top five sushi spots, and it's right in the heart of the Midwest. Don't miss out on this gem!

Miyabi 9 is the best sushi restaurant I’ve experienced in Iowa. I've dined here twice, and both times the service was excellent and the food was fantastic. My favorites include the unagi nigiri, soba noodle bowl, amaebi nigiri, and ikanigiri. About a year ago, I had some strict dietary restrictions due to a medical condition, and I truly appreciated how accommodating and kind our waitress was. While the atmosphere may not appeal to customers who prefer quieter settings, I found the music enjoyable and didn’t mind it at all because the food was so delicious.

This restaurant never fails to impress! The sushi is amazing, the staff are fantastic, and I always recommend trying the specials!
