Francies - Des Moines

I had an incredible experience at this place. It was my first time there and our waitress was exceptionally friendly. Despite it being close to closing time (which we were unaware of), they served us promptly. The nachos we ordered were generously topped and the drinks were fantastic. I tried the Mulberry mule and it was delicious. I would rate this bar 11 out of 10 and would definitely visit again.

This place is like the Cheers of Des Moines! If you're a fan of beer, make sure to try the Ruthie. It's a great little bar with fantastic menu options. The cooks are really talented and do a wonderful job. The pasta salad is amazing, as well as their patty melt and tuna melt. Everyone seems to have a different favorite dish because everything is just that good!

Great food and great service, the place was busy, but everything went very nice. The food was great with all the house and everyone in our party loved their food. They held a beautiful full crowd coming and going and as they say when it is busy, it must be good. This is the truth about this place. It's good!

I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. This time we got to sit on the terrace which was lovely! Our server, Lauri, was fantastic. We always love it when she takes care of us. She recommended a lime martini that I had never tried before, and it was fantastic - like dessert in a glass. I also tried the cucumber appetizer, which was refreshing. We decided to try something different this time and went with the Queso Dip with added Italian sausage - this was a game changer and now a must-have for us every time we come! I usually have my chicken Philly sandwich with paprika, honey mustard, and ranch for dipping - the honey mustard is especially delicious with my sandwich and fries. My partner had the turkey sandwich with loaded fries, and everything was amazing as always!

A longtime bar grill on the south side of Des Moines. Friendly staff, great nachos and a small but lively atmosphere make this place great. Has a neighborhood feel, but is well known all across the city.
