The staff at this restaurant are incredibly rude. I'm not sure how they manage to attract any customers. I would recommend skipping this place and trying one of the many other friendlier restaurants in the area.
We are Sheffield residents who had not previously dined at the Grouse. Our group found the food enjoyable, the staff welcoming, and the beer was of good quality. We were puzzled by the negative reviews the Grouse has received in the past; it seems like the staff may have undergone training since then. A visit to the Grouse is recommended.
We had a wonderful experience at this charming country pub after our favorite walk. We called ahead to let them know we would be arriving late and they kindly allowed us to order over the phone. We brought our dog with us and were able to sit in the cozy back bar. We ordered the open prawn sandwich, fish finger sandwich, and shared a serving of chips and onion rings. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and it was a truly authentic pub dining experience.
Phoned to book a table for Sunday lunch and was told “just walk in, we’ll find you a table” First time at this pub so we walked in with our family and 2 dogs, there was a dog lying on the floor so assumed our dogs must be ok to go in. We were met with a rude woman loudly telling us “no dogs in the front room!’ I apologised and she added “there’s a sign on the bar!’ We’d barely got in, never mind near enough to the bar to see a sign. We were told to go through to the back room which we did. Felt like a cafe in there. We left
