Fat Cat Cafe - Derby

What a disappointment! Some friends and I had booked and fully paid for a bottomless brunch yesterday...greeted by a defensive front of house person who would benefit from some customer service training telling us the kitchen wasn 't open and we 'd had an email ..which we hadn 't ... strange to be told, You can shout at me all you want when no one was shouting, just asking for a refund ...we were offered one free drink...mine was basically soda with a splash of aperol. So disappointing and could have been handled so much better. I 've been a regular at a number of Fat Cats since they started... first and last time to the one in Derby.

I have been going to this bar for many years with no issues at all with family or friends. However, when I tried to go in on a Saturday night, I was told by one of the door staff that we were not allowed in because there was a fight there last year involving people wearing the same brand of clothes. Just two weeks ago, my partner and I went in wearing the same brand of clothes and had no problem at all. We were not drunk or causing any trouble, just looking to have a drink. Are they going to start checking everyone's clothes after a fight now and not let people in if they are wearing the same brand?

12 aug , no air condition in the middle of summer upstairs was like a sweat box , not even a ceiling fan. Had a family birthday but spent more time having to go outside where there was a bit of air but in the upstairs function room was like being in a greenhouse. Windows were open but that made no difference. Other than like being in a oven was ok.

Excellent service from a really friendly team. George and Reza went out of their way to accomodate my requests to amend my pizza and to delight their customer. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and fantastic service. Thank you gentlemen!

We visited several bars that night, but this one had the best music and atmosphere. The drinks were delicious with a wide selection to choose from.
