We went on our first night, trying to keep the jet lag at bay even though it was technically 4 o’clock in the morning for us. It was a Saturday night after a ball game so it was pretty busy but that added to the atmosphere, it’s kinda dank and grubby down there, but with so many people in the space you don’t notice it as much especially alongside the flashing lights from the machines and the music. The games seemed well maintained but my husband just wished there were a few less pinball machines and few more electronic arcade games. The games weren’t badly price nor the beer and whilst there wasn’t too much choice there were enough options for craft/real ale beer drinkers. Definitely a good place to spend an hour or two just expect it to be a bit noisier on a Saturday night.
Visited with family and friends, had a great evening. So many games to play!! They are all a Quarter, I think. Great drinks, not pricey. Had a cool vibe.
Fun way to spend a few hours and all the games take quarters! Plus, there's a full bar! So much fun after a night at the Rockies game!
(Warning: young adults from Central Florida during a fall vacation We spent the last part of a co ed bach party here and had a blast. I’ve been to vintage bar cades where machines were neglected, drinks sucked, or it was dirty. 1Up was none of those. Hell yeah! Be sure to bring plenty of quarters but there’s a change machine if you have bills. LARGE, UNDERGROUND, NOT CROWDED During a weekend night, it was crowded, but there were enough machines, hangout areas (like the giant Jenga outside and walking space that it never became annoying. Sure, we had to wait to use some of the more popular games, but there was enough things to do while stayed vigilant. My top games was the multi player PacMan and the Game of Thrones pinball (actually, any pinball. There were almost 10 choices too! FULL BAR WITHOUT THE IDIOCY I enjoyed the girly cocktails I ordered. Not freakin’ awesome, but great for a party atmosphere. Great selection of craft beer too. Thankfully there’s plenty of drink holders around the games. I saw the other 1UP has an age limit, but I didn’t see one for this branch. Regarding age, check out their website. They don’t allow anyone between ages 16 20 at all (as a safety and only below age 15 before 7pm accompanied by an adult.
I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. They do not refund extra tokens, so I find myself with $20 in custom tokens that I can never get back. Additionally, the bartender was quite rude, which added to my dissatisfaction. It seems like a poor business decision to create custom tokens that won’t be refunded, especially considering they likely cost a significant amount to produce. To top it off, there were a lot of loud and obnoxious frat boys who were overserved by the bartenders. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.
