My 10 year old had the California Roll and they topped it off with some tempura flakes which elevated the textures quite nicely. My 9 year old had the pork fried rice which was seriously out of this world! The pork was smoky and flavorful.Enjoy!
Overall a decent sushi restaurant. Fish were fresh and the rice was super moist and delicious. They had an average menu selection to choose from. I went during lunch so there wasn’t a crowd, we were sat right away and taken care of immediately by the friendly staff. We also ordered the fried rice and ramen. The ramen broth was just very salty, maybe it was sitting on heat too long it got salty. Fried rice is just as you expect from any good restaurant. For a very slow afternoon, the restroom were not fully stocked. Both restrooms are unisex and one restroom did not have paper towels. Otherwise, everything was pretty clean and tidy. The parking lot out back is very tight and a nightmare. They share their rear parking with Grease Monkey. You can also do street parking. This is all expected due to location of the facility.4/5 stars for first time experience5/5 for atmosphere and friendly staff5/5 stars for sushi fried rice2/5 stars for the ramen3/5 parking, that is to be expected downtownMaybe I will give it another try in the future, but not something I’d go out of my way for.
I'm not usually one for sushi, but this place blew me out of the water. The service was great, the sushi was good, and apparently they fly in fish from Tokyo every day. Quite expensive, but very good place for dinner. The servers were kind, and everything was pretty good.
Chill laid back vibe with friendly staff and super reasonable prices. Everything was delicious (smoked salmon sashimi, spicy edamame, seaweed salad, and firecracker roll)
High quality affordable sushi! I'm really impressed with the quality you get for the price at Rocky Yama. All their sushi is super reasonably priced and everything I've tried was fresh and delicious! For my budget friends, the basic rolls California, spicy tuna, Philly, avo salmon, etc. are $7. What a great deal! Even the fancier rolls are $13-$16. Those would easily run $16-$18 at other places. We had a meal for two for $37! I had a really great experience ordering online for pick up. I placed an order for 3 rolls for pick up asap through their website. The estimated wait time was 45 min but they had my food ready after only about 30 min! I ordered the Salmon avocado $7 , Negitoro $13 and orenji $15 rolls. All were great! Salmon avocado is a simple classic that was done well! The negitoro seemed priced a bit high compared to other rolls but honestly the quality was so good. The toro was super meaty! The orenji had shrimp tempura inside salmon, unagi sauce, and spicy mayo on top. It was a nice combo of sweet and mildly spicy! The staff were also very friendly and welcoming when I picked up my order! Overall, high quality sushi at great prices, especially if you get the simpler rolls! This would be a great weeknight sushi spot that doesn't break the bank. I'm looking forward to going back to try other rolls!
