Most of the booths were occupied when we arrived, but many patrons left before we had a chance to order. We were seated in a room that used to be a patio, separated from the main room by a glass wall. We ordered coffee and a **** Mary, but our beverages were brought out slowly. Despite flagging down the Manager, our coffee was not served promptly. After waiting for our food for 20 minutes, we decided to leave the restaurant due to the slow service. As we were leaving, we observed other frustrated diners in our section. Based on our experience and other reviews, we were relieved that we did not get to try the food at this establishment.
The tzatziki was made with sour cream and cucumber. The moussaka was topped with a questionable meat that seemed similar to Chef Boyardee, and had a strange nutmeg custard on top. A soggy slice of eggplant was sandwiched between the two off-putting components. The vegetable sides appeared to be frozen, and the soup tasted like it was from a can. This was definitely one of the worst meals I have ever had. The service was fast and friendly, but receiving mediocre food promptly does not make it any better.
I absolutely love the kabobs at Pete's Greek Town Cafe! They serve up delicious flame-broiled chicken and steak chunks with veggies on skewers over a bed of rice and vegetables. It's truly amazing! Make sure to also order some pita bread and their amazing tzatziki sauce. The dolmades are a must try as well! This place is a must-visit for kabob lovers.
I had lunch with my coworkers at this restaurant. They really enjoy the salads here, but I'm not a big salad fan, so I opted for a fish dish instead. I had the fried trout, which came with a tomato and cucumber salad, rice pilaf, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and a tomato basil vinaigrette. The trout was well cooked and seasoned, and very tasty. However, I didn't care for the tomato basil vinaigrette and wished I had gotten the lemon butter instead. The vegetables were a bit soggy, so I didn't eat them, and the rice pilaf wasn't very flavorful. I enjoyed most of the salad but left out the beet and olives. Two of my coworkers had the crispy chicken salad, which looked good but the chicken tenders were fried too long and ended up being hard. Overall, it was an average lunch experience. I would consider coming back for the trout, but I would need to manage my expectations and be aware of the restaurant's shortcomings.
This restaurant was delicious! We received a generous amount of food for a great price. The platter we ordered was huge and we have enough leftovers for another meal.
