I had the classic pastrami, and my partner got the Ham Jam—both were well-made, but we’d probably try something different next time. The pumpkin Whoopie Pie was fantastic, and I regret not getting a few more! Definitely a fun spot to check out for lunch if you’re in Denver.
The bread at this place is a 10. Has a soft, but firm chewy, bubbled interior that holds up well to sandwiches. Reminds me of a homemade premium version of how schlotzskys deli bread in texture was 20 years ago. I ordered a hot pastrami on rye, extra mustard and extra pastrami $5). Overall a $28 sandwich after taxes and the 10% food making fee. +parking needed offsite as busy downtown. Almost a $30 sandwich to go, review 10 min after purchase at home gulp). While this filled a food craving of mine, but I believe the meat sold pastrami is better cut, seasoned and suited to their Reuben I hope to try. Their pickles are excellent firm crisp, so someone was a fermented food nerd, so I bet the sauerkraut is good for a reuben, hopefully crisp and tasty. The meat on it 's own showcased in a sandwich of bread pastrami and mustard sandwich falls flat. It is lean and cut thin, almost firm meat, like a lean philly cheesesteak in texture and some corning spices in taste. It remains low in rendered fat and salt. Healthier pastrami likely, but not the jewish deli classic indulgence of crosscut melt in your mouth goodness. I would happily order a BLT or western states take on a reuben, looks great from pics and would be a more juicy sandwich less dry. They probably have good middle-east style food I haven 't explored as well. The potato salad was full of a twist of falafel style spice blend which I 'm not a fan wish deli sandwich pairing. May try the macaroni salad next time. Happy a place like this exists, since Rocky Mountain West is far from the East Coast or Chicago.
Without a doubt, this is the best deli in Denver—there's simply no competition. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is outstandingly friendly and accommodating. They often introduce exciting seasonal menu items, which adds to the experience. Although it’s usually bustling with a line out the door, it's absolutely worth the wait. The team works incredibly hard every day to ensure that every visit exceeds expectations while maintaining a laid-back dining atmosphere. I have to give a special shoutout to Josh at the bar—he’s my favorite!
Even though it was a very busy Saturday afternoon, it was clear that the restaurant maintained their high standards of service and food quality. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the ambiance was beautiful with all the greenery. I had the pastrami Reuben, which was the best I've had in Colorado — be sure to order an extra side of their delicious Russian dressing and the curry potato salad!
Fantastic sandwich shop. Their Ruben is delicious. However, it's extremely popular, and seating is limited, so it's best to come during off hours. Also make sure to get their brownies
