First impressions, the majority of staff need to learn common courtesy. Once seated, it was 20 minutes with no server contact before my group had to take it upon ourselves to grab the attention of a server who was walking by. I feel we were lucky to get this guy, and he is the only reason I did not rate the service as a 1 star. While the food was very good, I'd have to say if given the opportunity to return, I don't think I would.
Had a $35 seafood Cobb salad for lunch. Nothing sectioned as with a traditional Cobb. Had an overwhelming amount of bacon, way too much boiled egg white, an okay amount of shrimp, and undetectable (perhaps none) amount of crab and lobster. For $35, they should be sectioning the ingredients and serving ample crab and lobster. The setting is great. The service was good. The $15 valet was stupid.
We had a very nice dining experience here and I will be the first to admit it’s challenging to seat a table of five…especially in a quiet spot for easy conversation. They found us the perfect place. The wait staff was very professional and gave us lots of room for talk between courses but was always nearby should we have a need.Drinks and wine selection was very good, salads were fresh and cold. Entrees were slightly overcooked, worth noting if you are very particular on how you like your steaks and prime rib. Sides and desserts were yummy just as you would expect. The Denver ChopHouse Brewery is a comfortable place and a solid dinner option in LoDo.
This is the first time I've been here in 14 years. My first visit back then was excellent. This visit was lacking. They ran out of two of the dishes we ordered, and we were only notified once they fired our order, which meant we needed to quickly choose a different dish. While I'm used to slow paced dining in Eurpoe, this was ridiculously slow for a Monday evening. Our reservations were for 5:30, and we were seated promptly. From that point on, service slowed dramatically. All told, our dinner lasted almost four hours, and not because we camped at our table after we were finished service was that slow. The food was just okay. My husband liked his prime rib, and my replacement meal, the chicken picatta, was nothing to write home about. Honestly, my husband makes a far better one at home. For the price, I was quite disappointed in the overall experience. Luckily, we were with an amazing group of people, which increased my enjoyment of the experience greatly.
