City, O' City - Denver

Amazing quality and generous portions for their mains. My family of four, with two picky kids smashed on chicken and waffles, burgers, and the buffalo wings. I was blown away at how good everything was. I'd drive up from Colorado Springs just to grab lunch in the future.

Best vegan place I have experienced in Denver! Lots of variety and ways things can be cooked which is really nice. Drinks were very strong so be careful if you are like me who rarely drinks. I live very far but if I come to Denver, this is where I will go!

When you go vegetarian/vegan, you feel really good about it.

So I'm not a vegetarian but I was at the Denver art museum and was hungryI sauntered over to City O' City because it had great yelp reviews.

Came on a weekday and had a good time. It was nice to see a mix of options, so you didn't have to rely only on fake meats or whole foods. My meal was a BBQ tofu bowl with fried onions, kale and mac n cheese. Not necessarily soul food mac, but still fit well with the barbecue vibe. I tried my friend's chicken and waffles where the chicken substitute was fried cauliflower. I would've preferred a fake meat version, but I can see the benefit of having a much lighter version like this. The sweet potato cinnamon roll was the star of the show. Not enough can be said about the exceedingly friendly staff Chase and homegirl from Kentucky. It's so refreshing (and rare) to see people who are good at and like their job.
