American Elm - Denver

Got a reservation for a large group on a Friday night and had an excellent experience.My gf and I had the scallops and the carbonara and they were both so tasty.Others in my party got the steak frites and the fries were so crispy and the steak was very flavorful.For apps I would recommend the ricotta and the deviled eggs.Drinks were fun, albeit a tad expensive. For a special occasion this is a great spot! We will be back!!!

Really great spot with amazing food. Definitely a must try. Staff was all friendly and helpful.

Celebrated my birthday here while in Denver. Service was great! Unfortunately they were out of quite a few dishes when we visited, some that we were planning on ordering. I ended up getting the steak frites. The meat was very good, cap ribeye cooked just how I like, but it did have a little too much of a lemon taste, which I believe was in the bone marrow butter. I just don’t like lemon and meat together, but I know that is entirely personal preference.I completely understand being out of a few items, and that they probably would not want to sacrifice quality in order to have the full menu available, but it was a large chunk of the menu that they were not serving, which even if there is nothing that could be done, is still definitely disappointing. For most people, including ourselves, I would consider it a special occasion restaurant, prices are not terrible at all, but it is expensive enough that it especially stinks to be disappointed in your experience.

The food and drinks here were amazing! My favorite dish would have to be the carbonara which I normally don’t ever get because the way it tends to be made is inauthentic but after seeing photos from other people’sreviews I know this was not the case at American Elm. My only criticism is with regards to the shrimp. I would skip out on this dish because for what I recall was $18 for three pieces of shrimp split between two people was kind of a joke.Overall, I would highly recommend this neighbourhood gem!

Beautiful ambiance on the patio and great food. I had the carbonara. Excellent homemade pasta. The sauce was a bit salty, but still good. Also, the burrata fritters were a great appetizer choice.Dietary restrictions: Our gluten free friend had a lot of great menu options to choose from. They had a gluten free bread from a local bakery that I actually thought was better than the regular toast.
