James Grill Cafe - Denham Springs

Employees very friendly, very nice! Excellent service. Food was good! I went at 1:30 on a week day. Will go again.

Very smoky. Food was ok. Grits were lumpy. There were more blueberries than there was pancake. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with bacon and a croissant as my bread. Got a sandwich. Very disappointed. Waitress wrote it down right, kitchen messed it up. Didn't want to wait to make it right. It was ok. Waitress was very nice. My grandson enjoyed the food.

It's very smoky on the inside. Need better ventilation in the building. (Never been here before) Upon entering, the staff seemed oblivious to the fact we were there. When the lady at the counter finally looked around, she seemed to be in la la land, she told us we could seat ourselves. There's no signage at the entrance stating anything to know any better. She then said she would send a server our way. 10 mins go by one server was asking tables if they were alright. She approached ours, and I told her we haven't been served. She had to go get someone from the back. Good food. Didn't expect to wait an hr for it. I get they were busy, but an update would've been nice. I eventually had to tell the server if we dont have food in 10 mins, we have to leave. Not to be rude, we had an appt to go to. Overall, would I want to go back again, eh.

Great food and friendly servers but wish they could invest a little in the seating situation.

The waitresses are all very kind.
