Shark Bay Cafe - Denham

Was initially excited to see all vegan options on the menu, especially for such a small/distanced city. the staff was super friendly, but manager/maintainer not so much. ordered the vegetarian brekky and asked if something could be replaced for the egg. I was told, no substitutes I can only add to parts for extra cost. when the breakfast arrived, I was told that the brot is pre-buted, so no option for toast without it. they would not have mentioned this if I had not specifically climbed up after ordering to check that they would not be butter / brot on. cold baked bean. hash brown was fat and seemed like it was roasted a few times. Avocado part was very small. ciabatta was small and came roasted with milk butter. she saw nothing like the picture that was published by other reviewers. coffee was made with milk laboratory milk and absolutely delicious. not sure whether it was the ability of the barista that did it or it is so good, no matter who does it. after a badly burned coffee in the bakery was amazing. Before I tried the breakfast, I was trying to try dinner there too, but after today's experience I will miss it. it wasn't cheap either at $25.

So happy to see clearly labeled vegan options, the specificities change, but when we were there, they had vegan breakfast, early rolls, banan bread, carrot cake, curry, roll and magnums. also the coffee was really good! we only have banana bread (moist and tasty) and coffee, but we go back to breakfast tomorrow. updated by previous review on 2022-04-30

They enjoy the sushi in this caffe. there were 4 more vegan hot dishes on the menu as well as a few vegan cakes to choose from. great to find this in such a remote location.

Vegan breakfast was a bit disappointing. Kind of expected more: it was one slice of bread topped with a bit of spinach, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and half an avocado. It was a too greasy for our liking, but still okay. Carrot cake is alright as well, icing is way too sweet, other than that a decent cake. The vegan curry was very tasty, the roti too greasy though and some of the potatoes were cold (perhaps due to the salad underneath). Bruschetta were tasty, sadly nothing to replace the feta with. Other than that 10/10. We had a mixed berry smoothie with almond milk as well, it wasn’t bad by any means, we just expected a bit more than frozen berries mixed with almond milk (at least that’s what it tasted like haha). Their fruit salad was delish and exactly what I needed. They have banana bread, carrot cake and some other vegan baked goods as well, haven’t tried them though. Great options for such a small town!
