Centennial Beach Cafe Uptown - Delta

We had an excellent salad, several other great food choices and in general, excellent choices of healthy food at a good price. Service was excellent, very friendly and generally a very comfortable place with a convenient location

I will agree with previous commenters, consistency can be lacking. I know there is 1 particular person in the kitchen that I hope isn't working. My chicken burger and fries always come out different which I only notice because I am a somewhat regular customer. Plus this happens everywhere... People are people not robots. There have been several menu changes which I can acknowledge as well. THAT BEING SAID,This place is far from horrible. What do you expect when you walk in the door? If you want the experience to be like Illuminate then go to Illuminate. Its not a fancy restaurant. Its a casual place to grab beer and appies. I go here because it's casual and my kids love it. Food will never be exactly the same twice unless its pre-made which this food is NOT.I like the fresh ingredients and food made to order. I enjoy the record player opposed to the radio. I personally think the staff are great (except for 1 older lady who isn't there anymore, probably the one Ken L mentioned in hs review) I have been here 3 times since my last review, maybe even more... Brought my brother once for lunch and my sister once for dinner. Neither had any complaints about their meal. My brother thought the seating was a bit uncomfortable but that was his only comment. Portion sizes were good and so was the food.I will go here before I travel out to Tsawwassen Mills to eat at a chain restaurant that is for sure! Support local business.. you may just find yourself become a regular patron.

This was our first and will be our only visit to this establishment. It is fairly small with some interesting décor. The restaurant looks very worn and not that clean. There were musical instruments in the corner that would indicate at some time live music perform. Their website has not been updated since May/16.My lunch companion ordered the chicken & waffles. There were 3 pcs of chicken accompanied by a waffle, coleslaw, and the tiniest corn bread muffin EVER. It was supposed to have potato salad, but when we inquired we were told that the potato salad was just being made and would not be ready for the lunch crowd. Really!?! The chicken was great, but the corn bread was dry & mealy in taste. The southern fried chicken sandwich was good, but not remarkable. The accompanying fries could have been from a frozen package. In our opinion, the meals were pricey. There is free parking in front of the restaurant. There are several stairs up to the restaurant, so if a person has mobility problems, they would need to enter from the rear door on the back, or at the end of the walkway where there is a gently slope up . Never been, but did go to the Centennial Beach location a few times.But I understand, now that both of the places have closed. Apparently did not renew their Beach venue and the uptown location will soon be replace by El Guapo's Cantina, which might be a Mexican restaurant worthy of a try.

I have been here three times before and they were all negative experiences and we vowed we wouldn't return. Then a groupon popped up and we saw that the the restaurant had made some changes so we decided to give it another shot. Marios (next door) was packed with people, and there was one table when we arrived on Saturday night just after 6. Bad sign. We were greeted by a older blonde woman who was nice, but seemed drunk. A younger girl then came and asked if we wanted drinks. I asked what was on special and she said "pints of PBR, but we're out of that". Ahhh, ok. I had a chicken burger and my wife had chicken fingers... the chicken fingers tasted exactly like ones that come in a frozen pack from Costco. Fries were good. The chicken in the sandwich was rubbery, and appeared as if it was either freezer burnt or microwaved. We watched two tables walk out after being seated but not offered menus or having orders taken after about 10min There was a loud drunk obnoxious group at the "bar" (2 guys and a girl) seemed to be friends of the staff, which further ruined the experience. Even with the groupon, this meal was not worth it. Tsawwassen needs more restaurants, but sadly this isn't it. We won't be back. For real this time.
