But then, we waited over an hour for our salads—seriously, over an hour for salads, which are the simplest dish to prepare. We decided to overlook this delay, but I noticed that a group of ten seated next to us had already received their entrees while we still hadn’t even gotten our salads. After two and a half hours, we were still waiting. When our entrees finally arrived, mine was missing. The server suggested I eat someone else's meal that was similar to mine (sushi) and promised to bring out my order after they finished. By that time, my friend had already started eating from that plate. It took another 20 minutes for my dish to arrive. Once dinner was over, it took an eternity for our plates to be cleared. Who wants to linger at the table with dirty dishes everywhere? Eventually, we spoke to a manager who assured us he would arrange a special dessert and would cover the birthday girl’s meal. However, the “special dessert” took another 30 minutes. At that point, we didn’t even want it anymore. When it came time to settle the bill, the birthday girl’s meal hadn’t been comped, despite the manager’s assurances. He didn’t even bother to inform us himself, sending the server as a messenger instead. Throughout the night, the server showed no concern for our experience and offered no apologies. After dropping the checks, she disappeared for another 20-25 minutes. We had to ask another manager for assistance, who didn’t seem to care, yet somehow managed to bring our checks quickly. When our server finally returned, she hurriedly processed our cards and tossed the pens onto the table before walking away. I understand that managing multiple separate checks can be tricky, and that delays can happen, but at the very least, a server should acknowledge their mistakes and apologize. Not once did we hear any acknowledgment during our meal, which is completely unacceptable. I’ve always been understanding of the challenges in the restaurant industry, but this experience was beyond frustrating. I will never return to this establishment and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. They definitely have potential, but they squandered it entirely.
However, this is where my experience leads to a two-star rating for Salt 7. We had reserved an outdoor spot, but when we arrived, we found only two benches and a small table set up. The ice bucket took up half the table, leaving no space for our food. Even worse, the staff, including Amanda, brought out silverware, plates, and glasses after we arrived. They did add another small table, but the space remained cramped. To make matters worse, the food arrived before we even had silverware; the server handed us cocktail napkins still in their plastic wrap. One of my guests was running late, so I requested that one order of sushi be held for her. By the time she arrived, the sushi bar was closed, and she only got to eat bread! I usually don’t write reviews, but this gathering was significant for us. The bride-to-be said she had a good time, but I could sense her disappointment. While I would consider returning to Salt 7 for a casual outing, I won’t be bringing a group there with a reservation again.
The lamb lollipop appetizer is awesome comes on a bed of chickpeas so delicious. And the wahoo fish dip was really good.
The place has died, it went from being one of the best to one of the worst.
Great server and attentive staff but food is definitely not on par with the prices. I ordered a $50 NY Strip and got a ribeye. The mgr and chef assured me it was a different kind of strip steak, yeah a ribeye! $20 crab cake wasn't even lump crab and not even sure it was crab at all. More like a spicy fish cake. Awful meal for $200
