Turtle Lake Tap Grill - Delavan

Excited as a local to try this. Seated right away and acknowledged by server Quinn young man tonight shortly after. Drink order taken and requested 1 ice water also and then nothing for 23 mins. Hostess noticed us and menus in hand as we were discussing leaving and asked if we had been helped. We explained and she jumped in and made our drinks. Few more minutes passed and order taken which I alerted our waiter how much time passed. He apologized and said he’d check with manager to see what could be done: asked for water again. Appetizer came. Very good. Fish fry came and asked the runner for water again. At this point no server to order cocktails so nothing to drink with meal. No water. Fish was great: Drink order taken. Hostess came they again. Waiter stopped and asked if anything needed 4th time for water and 2 were on the tray with drinks to go outside and he gave me one. Turned around grabbed another water and out the door. It was that easy but didn’t get it until 4th time. Understand being short handed but these servers have multiple areas inside and out. Nothing offered discounted. Work on service please.

We found the place quite by chance. We were looking for someplace to go after hiking in Carver Roehl Park. We found it on the map and are very happy we did. Located on the shore of Turtle Lake it has great outdoor seating overlooking the lake. I had the TL Spicy Chicken sandwich was excellent. My wifevhad the Chicken Quesadilla which was also excellent. We also had a Mai Ti and Tipsy Turtle for drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

First time in was a Sunday around noon. The mixed drinks were mediocre, not a lot of flavor, pretty weak for 8 9. The food was so so. Again not a lot of flavor. The stuffed mushrooms would have been good if they weren't too salty. Couple that with not great service we weren't asked for drink refills, food took a long time, server was not friendly , we will not return. If you do go, order bottled or canned drinks so you know what you're getting for your money. The place was clean, I will give them that.

What. A. View. Situated right on the shore of Turtle Lake, Turtle Lake Tap Grill has an amazing patio overlooking the lake. We were strawberry picking in the area, searched Yelp for nearby lunch spots and this spot came up. We had no idea the loveliness in store. We got a seat on the patio. While we were there, they also had live music happening on the patio that was the perfect accompaniment to the sunshiny patio lounging. For my lunch, I got a Santa Fe salad, which consists of mixed greens, black beans, corn, pico, pickled onions, topped with a few crispy tortilla strips and southwest ranch. If was a perfectly refreshing lunch for a warm summer day. Their menu has a variety of salads, apps, sandwiches, hot dogs, and pizza. I didn't have a cocktail but they do have a full bar and the table next to us got a Mai Thai that looked particularly lovely. Get to it!

We drove from McHenry, IL to try this place based on some of the other reviews. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. The best part was the appearance of the restaurant. We ordered burgers, but they arrived overcooked, dry, and cold. Additionally, it took a long time for our food to be served, and the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly. Overall, it wasn't worth the trip, and we won’t be returning.
