Barb City Bagels - DeKalb

I asked about egg bagels and even though they don't sell them anymore, they let me order some and I'll be picking they up tomorrow. This place is wonderful: the bagels and their service!!!

Food tates great, but took 15 minutes to get my food.

The bagels and coffee are good. The blueberry muffins were ok, too sugar sweetened with a from the box aftertaste, and no fresh blueberries. Do not get a breakfast sandwich either. You do not put microwaved egg and sausage on a fresh bagel, especially for the price they charge. And they make it right in front of you so you can witness the process. I have been there three times as I like to give anywhere three tries before deciding whether I like it or not. Three different times have I ordered the pizza bagel and had it still be ice cold inside due to the sauce. Three different times I’ve had to wait till I drove back to Elgin to my microwave to actually eat it at a safe temperature. I will not be returning.

This place offered some really nice options for food and pastries. Definitely a nice aesthetic that I would visit again and hope to try some of their other food options between classes. I'd definitely recommend coming earlier in the day when the bagels are still plentiful however but otherwise I wouldn't recommend missing this place if you've got the opportunity to stop in for a quick bite.
