And we are really happy that we have the opportunity to have the authentic Pahadi dishes that are really rare in Dehradun. The place is so great that you just want to embrace it with your eyes as soon as you get in. You will notice the deodar seeds on each table that will remind you of the village. You will notice that they only play Pahadi songs and the songs really create a great mood. We talked about food, Pahadi Thaali. It consists of Laal Bhaat, Aaloo Ke Gutke, Kafuli, Makkhan, Jhangore ki kheer, bhutwa (in non-veg thaali) or mix Daal (in veg thaali) and Chaanch. The taste was phenomenal. Kudos to the Desi Chulha team for the authenticity of Pahadi Cuisine. From everything in thaali, our favorite was Jhangore ki kheer, Mix Dal- it was made in bhaddu (a pot like utensil used in garhwal) and chaanch. Visit this wonderful place and enjoy the delicious pahadi food that tastes exactly what it does in villages.
The best pahadi food! I had dal pakodi served along with bhang chutni and veg thali was awesome! I came with bengali friends and they loved it too! The best way to explore ethnicity through food
After having lived in this region for 23 years and cost a variety of food, I finally found my place for the most delicious and authentic Uttarakhandi cuisine. A shrine to all who travel to Uttarakhand, stop at Desi Chulha (on the Mussoorie diversion on Rajpur Road) and try local snacks and dishes there. You will not be less than happy, full and deep satisfied with a desire to visit again... Kudos to the couple Mrs. Shikha and Mr. Surendra Anthwal for the wonderful ambience, delicious food and for the perfect host!!
Wow is the only word that comes to my mind when I think of this place. They serve high quality food in the city. I tried Stuffed Mushroom and it was a ghost blowing. They serve Bhang ki Chutney must try.
Desi Chulha is one of the oldest restaurant in the town serving authentic Uttarakhandi cuisine since 2016. In a world where everyone is crazy for dimsums, pasta, noodles etc, coming out with such Pahadi delicacy needs admiration . This restaurant has a very comforting atmosphere with some conventional interior decor . Talking about it’s scrumptious food
