Goldener Engel - Deggendorf

Good, but not for the tourist. no English or menus in English. we had a very good dinner, but had to choose what we could translate ourselves, and the Bc menu uses a cursive font that was hard to translate. the price is ok people

We stayed near the castle egg and decided to drive to the evening dinner to deggendorf. After a short walk through the central pedestrian zone of the inner city, we chose this pretty little restaurant, golden angel golden angel. the menu was only in German and.

Probably one of the best places for traditional Bavarian cuisine, great ambiente and wonderful service, beautiful and quiet location in deggendorf

Price is ok- people but with too many leftovers.... share courses. Felt authentic and the atmosphere was excellent. Glad we tried, but wish we could have known more about our options- felt like we missed out. Service ok- one wait for us all. Food did come out hot and great quality!!

I found this place by chance. It was my first night ever in Germany; a business trip brought me to Deggendorf for a much too short stay. The Stadtplatz seemed like a good place to start, and I chose the Goldener Engel because it looked...good Not speaking German myself, my waitress was wonderful by speaking English as well as she could (she knew enough and pantomimed the rest and then found a menu for me translated into English. She was able to recommend traditional fare I'd like and special beer. Her help was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Food was hot, beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. (I had a venison platter The special cloudy Arcobrau was so good I had to have another. A gentleman who had lingered at a table nearby with his friends came over and, in broken English, introduced himself and welcomed me to Deggendorf. I left after I, too, had lingered to soak in the ambiance. I left satisfied, full, happy and glad to have made unexpectedly made new friends. I may never have a chance to return to this part of the world, but I hope I do. I promise to enjoy another meal at the Goldener Engel if I can and hope this review might encourage someone else to give it a try.
