A&W Restaurant - Deer Lake

We arrived in Deer Lake quite late and this was the only place that was still open. As we hadn't eaten since lunch on the ferry, we were starving. A&W burgers are always very good, even more so when you're hungry. The service was also...very prompt and the food hot.

Have been here times while on vacation. Both times service was slow and prices were expensive. Today went just for an ice cream. Was for a regular cone. When I received it I said for that? I have a feeling whether I...ordered small or regular the cone size would have been the same. Plus the soft server mix they use from Island dairy I believe it said was overly sweet and course in texture. Usually means more ice milk than cream, so I would just avoid it if I were you.

Starting to prefer A and W over Tim Horton's. By the way the A is for Allen and W is for Wright, the two founders.

We had 4 orders, the coffee came first and the food was late so the coffee were cold by the time we got the meal. Lots of staff but it seemed they were confused about the orders and who got what food, even though we...gave our names with the order. We were called twice for one of the four orders. My pancakes were cold when I received them as they were done long before my husband's order. The service was very slow.

The restaurant has quick access off the highway. It has a drive thru and a eatin area typical of most fast food joints. The only disappointment was that the onion rings were "not available" . Burgers were good. Make sure you have the root beer for which A
