Grove And Tavern - Decatur

We moved nearby recently and this has become our go to for our family of 4. Laid back neighborhood spot with surprisingly good bar food. Favorites are the chicken salads and sandwiches and Buffalo shrimp. Ordered takeout twice from here when family was in town (per their request). Always courteous service and we enjoy sitting outside when the weather is nice. Great spot to have so close.

Great spot for lunch. Dropped in today for a quick bite and everything was perfect. Prompt and polite service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere.

The ambiance and location is beautiful and the food is on par with bar food. The hostess sat us at a dirty table and didn’t wipe it down. She also spilled a sugar packet everywhere and left it. The water always taste gross, old taps perhaps. Waitress and manager are super friendly.

The food was fresh and of excellent quality. The chef even came out to clarify an exception to our order, which was a nice touch! Our waitress was attentive and did a great job. While the air conditioning was quite strong in the dining room, the outdoor area felt damp from the recent rain. A sweater over my bare arms was just right, but the cold did cool down the food a bit too quickly. I ordered the ribeye steak burrito, and my companion had the taco shell salad topped with chili, which was not only huge but also really delicious!

Cool hangout place. It had sports bar vibes but also could tell a lot of college kids hangout here. The prices actually matched the portion. I got the chicken tenders basket and the chicken sandwich and it filled me up. The chicken was so juicy and wasn’t frozen it was actually seasoned. The fries however were shoestrings which isn’t anything bad but I prefer other brands. I totally forgot about the tater tots which I should have got because they looked good. Overall it was a nice experience, the parking lot at night is a little sketchy though.
