Black Iron Coffee Company - Decatur

I was skeptical about this place because me and my girlfriend are very picky about our coffee. We went yesterday and ordered a mango smoothie and a caramel iced coffee. It was absolutely amazing. Best coffee I've ever gotten from a shop. The ladies inside were very nice and got our drinks out to us very quickly. Prices were marginally cheaper than most other coffee shops and the overall atmosphere makes this place a daily must.

Black Iron is one of my 3 favorite coffee places in this area, I have one for each area of town. Whenever I am in the Mt.Zion area I have to stop here. I get their iced coffee with creme de menthe or that same drink with white chocolate added. Their iced coffee blends is one of my favorites. I also love the fact that they have a rewards program and a drive thru! The staff is always friendly and willing to help!

When he returned with an iced mocha instead, I mentioned that it was incorrect and that I had wanted the blended version. He then argued with me, insisting we had said ice. If he had listened to my initial order, this misunderstanding could have been avoided. When he finally brought out the correct drink, he had a total attitude. I usually associate this store with friendly staff, which is why I prefer it over Starbucks. However, after this experience, I don’t think I will be returning for a while. I suggest reconsidering this employee’s position. Typically, I wouldn't make a fuss over just one misunderstanding, but the arguing and his demeanor—especially after receiving a tip—felt unprofessional, particularly since it stemmed from his lack of attentiveness to my original request.

I stopped by for my morning coffee, and it was definitely worth it! They have a fantastic selection of products, and the coffee was excellent. Even the non-coffee options were outstanding. I will definitely make a stop here the next time I'm in town.

We also ordered some food. I tried the jerk chicken wrap, which was flavorful and refreshing, and just the right size. We shared a S'mores scone as well, and let me just say, I'm not usually a fan of scones because they tend to be dry. However, this one was among the most delightful pastries I've ever tasted! The toppings were amazing and complemented the soft, fluffy scone perfectly.
